Frequently Asked Questions

Where does Pace get my run data?

Pace reads your running workouts directly from Apple HealthKit — the same place your Apple Watch or other fitness apps store data. You grant this permission during onboarding, and you can revoke it at any time in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices.

Why is the Insights tab empty?

The Insights tab is powered by your run history and typically populates automatically after your first sync. If it still appears empty, pull down on the Insights tab to refresh. If you have fewer than two weeks of run data in HealthKit, some charts may not yet have enough data to display.

How is my recovery status calculated?

Recovery status (Ready / Easy / Rest) is based on your heart rate variability (HRV), resting heart rate, and sleep duration from HealthKit, compared against your recent baselines. A higher-than-average HRV, lower-than-average resting HR, and 7+ hours of sleep typically indicates a Ready day.

How do I change between km and miles?

Go to the Profile tab and tap the unit toggle to switch between kilometres and miles. All distances across the app update immediately.

How do I change my weekly goal?

Go to the Profile tab and tap your weekly goal to adjust it. Changes take effect immediately on the Home tab.

What HealthKit permissions does Pace need?

Pace requests read-only access to:

Pace does not write any data to HealthKit.

How do I delete my account?

Go to the Profile tab and scroll to the Account section. Tap "Delete account" and confirm. This permanently deletes your profile, all synced run data, and recovery history from our servers. Your Apple Sign In is also deauthorised. This action cannot be undone.

How do I sign out?

Go to the Profile tab, scroll to the Account section, and tap "Sign out." Your data remains securely stored and will be available when you sign back in.

Why does the app need to sync each time I open it?

Pace syncs your latest workouts and health data from HealthKit each time the app opens so that your stats are always up to date. The sync typically takes a few seconds and runs quietly in the background.

Is my health data shared with anyone?

No. Your health data is stored securely on our servers and is never sold, shared with third parties, or used for advertising. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
