Privacy Policy

Introduction

Pace ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Pace iOS app.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you sign in with Apple, we receive:

• Your display name (only shared on first sign-in; Apple does not share it on subsequent logins)
• A unique user identifier from Apple that never changes

We do not receive your Apple ID email address unless you choose to share it.

Health & Fitness Data (via Apple HealthKit)

With your permission, Pace reads the following data from Apple HealthKit:

• Running workouts: date, distance, duration, average pace, GPS route
• Heart rate variability (HRV)
• Resting heart rate
• Sleep data: duration and sleep stages

Pace reads this data but does not write to HealthKit.

Profile & Preferences

• Your display name
• Weekly distance goal
• Distance unit preference (km or mi)

How We Use Your Information

• Display your run history, weekly stats, and progress toward your goal
• Calculate your recovery status from HRV, resting heart rate, and sleep
• Generate weekly summary charts on the Insights tab
• Personalise your experience (unit preference, goal suggestion during onboarding)

Data Storage

Your data is stored in Supabase, a secure cloud database. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access is strictly scoped to your account — no other user can access your data.

Run and health data synced from HealthKit is stored in our database to power the Insights tab. This data is never shared with third parties.

Third-Party Services

Supabase

We use Supabase for authentication and data storage. See the Supabase Privacy Policy.

Apple HealthKit

Health data is read from HealthKit on-device. Apple governs how HealthKit data is accessed and stored. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

Apple Sign In

Authentication is handled entirely by Apple. We never see your Apple ID password. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

What We Do NOT Do

• We do not sell your data
• We do not share your data with advertisers
• We do not display ads
• We do not collect device location — route data comes exclusively from GPS already stored in HealthKit
• We do not access HealthKit data in the background without your knowledge

How to Delete Your Data

Delete Your Account

You can delete your account at any time from the Profile tab in the app. Tapping "Delete account" permanently removes your profile, all synced run data, recovery data, and weekly summaries from our servers. Your Apple ID is also deauthorised. This action cannot be undone.

Revoke HealthKit Access

You can revoke Pace's access to HealthKit at any time in the iOS Settings app under Health → Data Access & Devices. This stops future syncing but does not remove data already stored in our database — use "Delete account" for full removal.

Children's Privacy

Pace is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
